No verão de 2007, estudantes da Escola Summit de Montreal, com deficiências intelectuais, emocionais e comportamentais, ensaiam uma complexa peça de teatro musical. A peça conta a jornada de um estudante com autismo que chega em uma nova escola. As belas e desajeitadas performances desses estudantes expõem uma profunda e perturbadora verdade. Eles não são diferentes de nós, não querem a nossa piedade, querem nos mostrar quem são, e ser compreendidos. O documentário acompanha os ensaios da peça, dando destaque a seis dos estudantes, seus pais e professores. Autismo, Aspergers, Síndrome de Down, TORCH Syndrome, A.D.D., suas manifestações e conseqüências são reveladas. Essa jornada, em que às vezes a ficção se mistura com a realidade, revela a beleza desse jovens, suas habilidades e o fascinante efeito de sua honestidade.

In the summer of 2007, students from Montreal’s Summit School, affected by intellectual, emotional and behavioral disabilities, attempt to mount a complex and powerful theatrical production. The play presents the journey of a student with autism who is new at the school. The raw, beautiful and awkward performance of these students exposes a deep and haunting truth. They are not different than us, they do not want our pity, they want to show us who they are and they want us to understand. The documentary weaves the play rehearsals with vignettes of six of the student performers, their parents and their teachers. Autism, Aspergers, Down Syndrome, Torch Syndrome, A.D.D., their manifestations and consequences are revealed. This journey reveals the beauty of these youth, their abilities and the fascinating effects of their honesty.
