CARMINA shows a completely unique international dance project. A total of more than 300 disabled and able-bodied people – both professional dancers and amateurs – perform the world-famous Carmina Burana by Carl Orff. The central theme of this endeavor – inclusion – is one that the participants come up against over and over again. The ‘normal’ male students, in particular, find it difficult to be in contact with their disabled fellow dancers. CARMINA follows the participants throughout the arduous rehearsal process as they are constantly challenged by a strict and loving team of renowned choreographers – Wolfgang Stange, Volker Eisenach and Royston Maldoom. The performers have only three weeks before the big performance to transform from this ragtag motley crew into a convincing dance ensemble.
