Daniel Balima é um horticultor de Tenkodogo, uma pequena cidade de Burkina Faso, na África Subsaariana, onde mora com sua grande família e trabalha desde que nasceu, há 67 anos. Daniel teve pólio na infância e, embora cresça sem poder usar as pernas, consegue acompanhar seu pai no viveiro de plantas da família, caminhando com suas mãos. Em mais de cinquenta anos de atividade, ele deu vida a mais de um milhão de árvores em seu país – e pretende plantar mais um milhão.
Daniel Balima is a senior horticulturist from Tenkodogo, a small Sub-Saharan African town in Burkina Faso, where he lives with his large family and has worked since he was born 67 years ago. Daniel as a child falls ill with polio and, although growing without the use of his legs, he is able to follow his father in the family nursery, walking on his hands. In over fifty years of activity he has given life to more than a million trees in his country.

The documentary examines the unique relationship between Orandina and Angelina, who grew up together in a home for orphaned and very poor girls on the remote Portuguese island of São Miguel. The women lived alone for decades as Orandina slowly lost the function of her limbs to a degenerative neurological condition, and Angelina, who is intellectually disabled, became her caregiver. The film presents a rich exploration of disability, independence, and sisterhood.

When Kendra was born with an extremely severe physical disability, none of the doctors at the local hospital had any experience with arthrogryposis. They left no uncertainty that Kendra would not walk, that is if she survived. Kendra’s mom created her own plan to incorporate every innovative physical therapy. No one expected Kendra to achieve so much in so little time, nor did they think horses would play such a large role in it.

Breaking barriers in the dance world, Mona also represents the overcoming of daily prejudice against black people in the largest city in South America. As a dancer and actress, she is now a national symbol of resistance.

The lives of two families, Hajrich and Sunjich, are very different. The Sunjich family has the means to make the life of their daughter Edna fulfilled. She is a happy and successful teenager. The Hajrich family is stuck because there is no access for disabled people in their building and even the basic right to go out with their daughter Senka is an everyday struggle.

Os anos foram passando e Øyvind foi ficando cada vez mais solitário. Cinco anos depois, Espen reaparece e tira Øyvind de casa. Durante essa jornada, testemunharemos como dois amigos se reencontram apesar das circunstâncias.
Øyvind and Espen are two good friends who used to spend a lot of time together back in middle school. One day suddenly, Øyvind got struck with cerebral hemorrhage and was set back in his life. His friends that he used to stick close to and keep in touch with disappeared a little by little. As the years go by, Øyvind becomes more lonely and the need for a friend in his life is certain. Five years later, Espen returns to Øyvind›s life and brings him out of his house. Through this journey we get to witness two friends who find back to each other despite the circumstances.

Crianças com e sem deficiência trabalham continuamente lado a lado com seus colegas e professores, sem deixar espaço para aulas individuais. As crianças e o professor aprendem a se comunicar através da linguagem alternativa e aumentativa personalizada para a deficiência específica de Nicole.
Nicole is a little girl, a carrier of the gene for empathy, whose primary means of communication is her eyes. The film portraits a case of a truly inclusive education. Children with and without disabilities continuously work side by side with their classmates and teacher, without leaving the room for individual tuition. The children, and the teacher learn to communicate through the alternative and augmentative language personalized for Nicole’s specific disability.
