The lives of two families, Hajrich and Sunjich, are very different. The Sunjich family has the means to make the life of their daughter Edna fulfilled. She is a happy and successful teenager. The Hajrich family is stuck because there is no access for disabled people in their building and even the basic right to go out with their daughter Senka is an everyday struggle.

Para cada 800 recém nascidos, há um com síndrome de Down. Todos os anos há mais de 400 “crianças ensolaradas” por nascer. De acordo com a WHO (Estatística Mundial sobre Saúde), em 90% dos casos, as mulheres interrompem a gravidez após o diagnóstico da síndrome de Down. Existem aproximadamente 15 mil pessoas com síndrome de Down na Ucrânia e mais da metade delas são crianças. Há pelo menos 300 em Odessa. Com este filme, nós conhecemos sete deles.
For every 800 newborn children there is one with Down syndrome. Every year there are more than 400 “sunny children” to be born. According to the WHO statistics in the 90% of cases women end pregnancy after the diagnostics of Down syndrome. There are approximately 15 thousands of people with Down syndrome in Ukraine and more than half of them are children. There are at least 300 of them in Odessa. We got acquainted with 7.
